Funky Chunky Furnitures shelves, mantels, and furniture are crafted from responsibly sourced wood. We work with suppliers who prioritise sustainable forestry, ensuring forests are well-managed to support biodiversity, protect wildlife habitats, and promote long-term regeneration.

Solid Rustic Timber

To make these solid wood desks we select top quality, unsorted, kiln-dried pine. Each table is cut to size and finished in our signature rustic style. This leaves in lots of natural timber characteristics and features. Mother Nature's own stamp of approval.

In this style, you can expect to find splits, cracks, knots, shakes, waney edges, bows and twists, along with sanding marks in keeping with the rustic style. These are the qualities that set our furniture apart from the rest. And due to the nature of solid wood, every console table will be different. Truly unique. One of a kind. Please note that placing your item near a heat source can cause movement within the timber which may exaggerate these natural features.

Please note that all sizes and weights given are approximate. As we only use natural, solid timber, measurements can change slightly from one piece to another.

To finish our wooden coffee tables we use your choice of one of our supreme wax polishes. The finish is professionally applied with the highest attention to detail. And as the wax soaks into the different grains and features, it enhances their look and brings them to life. The available colours are:

When viewing on screen, colours can look different from one screen to another. This makes it less reliable than seeing the real finished timber before your own eyes. Assembly & Care

Some Minor Assembly Needed

These rustic solid wood desks are delivered via courier and require minor assembly once they're in your home. The desk legs need to be affixed to the tabletop, and come with instructions and all the fixings you'll need. Being delivered unassembled makes it easier to move the desk to its perfect position in your home. We recommend that two strong people are available to move the desk into place, and assemble it in your home.

Care & Clean

Daily care of your Funky Chunky Furniture piece is really simple. to find out more.

Your furniture will come with felt protectors, please use these on the bottom of your new furniture to protect your flooring. You will need to make sure that any hard flooring (which includes wood, laminate and vinyl flooring) is completely dry and free from chemical residues before putting your new furniture into place.

As this is a natural wood product with a wax finish any applied force, and friction, can cause the wax to transfer onto surfaces.

If wax transfer does occur we may be able to recommend products to help remove or reduce the appearance of the transfer.

However, we cannot be held responsible for any such incidents, or the use of any products we may suggest. Get in touch with our customer services team for advice.

Future Maintenance With Wax Care Packs

We have wax care packs available to keep your furniture and shelves looking their best. They are great to use every few months to make your piece look brand new all the time. They're also brilliant for fixing damage.

Delivery & Returns

Turnaround & Delivery

As these solid wood desks are handmade we do require some time for manufacturing. This will normally take 1 week. They will then be dispatched on a next working day courier service to UK mainland. (More remote UK areas and Northern Ireland could see an extra 1-2 days for delivery).
